This is so cool! But what country are they from? “Africa” is really vague.

Their names are Duro-Aina Adebola, Akindele Abiola, Faleke Oluwatoyin, and Bello Eniola and they’re from Lagos, Nigeria. There’s a neat video about them here.

#when will people start giving names to young non-white scientists??#bc that shit is getting old

Then just wash your hair, put some coconut oil in it and go! Or put it in braids or cornrows. Our people didn't have shea moisture or ecostyler in the past. It's not natural anymore if you're letting your hair take so much of your time and money..you're still being controlled esp by the product companies. Just rock your hair, NATURALLY!

Deodorant is “unnatural” but we still use it.
It’s hair. And it’s natural in that it isn’t chemically straightened. Why does anyone feel the need to comment beyond that..

LMFAO our people in the past also didn’t have water that was so polluted and harsh that causes us to need products that moisturize our hair.

And where did people get this notion that in the past people didn’t do anything with their hair. Yea they didn’t have ecostyler gel or whatever but people have been manipulating and not rocking their hair naturally. People been putting shit in their hair forever.

Natural is hair that isn't relaxed. Whether we Fro it out or straighten it, we're just happy to have that Choice.

Anonymous said: Black women, you claim you're going back to wearing your natural and that you're Black and proud yet you spend a fortune on "natural hair products", sometimes more products than you needed before. You do twistouts and braidouts to get curls and use gel to "tame the edges" but you claim to be natural. You spend hours working on changing your hair texture and have coined all these different terms and acronym for the "natural hair movement". It all seems fake to me.

Hmmm
