Hmmm

Women with looser textures do this all the time yet they don’t get flack for it nor does anyone say they aren’t wearing their hair natural. I really don’t understand why detangling your hair is such an issue or doing a twist out or whatever. They’re hairstyles. Our hair is still in it’s natural state not altered by permanent chemicals but by heat or manipulation. At the end of the day if I spray my hair with water or get hit by humidity it’ll go back to normal so what’s the problem????

Natural hair still requires maintenance! And it needs more maintenance! So we’re not suppose to buy and find what hair care products work and keep our hairs specific texture moisturized and beautiful? So we’re not suppose to detangle our hair? We aren’t suppose to have other styles for versatility or to protect our hair? We’re not suppose to have our right to rock OUR hair wild and free OR tamed and slicked? Smh

These anons need to take their bullshit somewhere else. Stop being concerned with black women’s hair. These same pieces of shit never give white girls, Asian girls, Latina girls for curling their hair or straightening it (both are forms of styling the hair) when they post shit saying “natural,” but because a black girl also decides to do similar styling she hates yourself? Come and collect your life and go somewhere else. Tired of seeing these.

So what you’re saying is if you go natural you can’t style your hair like everyone one else?

Lol basically

Please stfu and have several seats. You see white woman or even ANY race with straight hair doing different styles on there NATURALLY straight hair but because our hair is curled we can’t style it? Kiss my BLACK AND SEXY ass

If your not a black women then dont concern yourself with black women hair foh

This is basically saying that since we are wearing our hair the way it grows, we are not allowed to have hairstyles. That’s equivalent to telling a white girl she can’t curl/ straighten her hair because she’s being untrue or telling a Latina that she can’t blow her hair out or telling an Asian Woman that she is not allowed to color her hair because she’s being phony. Please stop. Just like all the rest, these are hair styles. My natural ‘fro gets worn just as much as my twist-outs, braid-outs etc. and laying down your edges isn’t bad because at the end of the day if I’m putting my hair in a bun I want my hair to ALLL match my sleek style of the day. Hair products aren’t being real? Hair products are ESSENTIAL to properly care for all hair types. Black hair especially. We require constant moisture and nurrishment. Twist outs protect our fragile ends. What we do is necessary.

Give black women a break! Please! Why not just be supportive of someone else’s journey or say nothing at all. Your post accomplishes nothing.

Then just wash your hair, put some coconut oil in it and go! Or put it in braids or cornrows. Our people didn't have shea moisture or ecostyler in the past. It's not natural anymore if you're letting your hair take so much of your time and money..you're still being controlled esp by the product companies. Just rock your hair, NATURALLY!

Deodorant is “unnatural” but we still use it.
It’s hair. And it’s natural in that it isn’t chemically straightened. Why does anyone feel the need to comment beyond that..

LMFAO our people in the past also didn’t have water that was so polluted and harsh that causes us to need products that moisturize our hair.

And where did people get this notion that in the past people didn’t do anything with their hair. Yea they didn’t have ecostyler gel or whatever but people have been manipulating and not rocking their hair naturally. People been putting shit in their hair forever.

Why do ppl always say “the people if the past.” Like it ain’t 2014 & we don’t know more about our hair through research? When you know better you do better & just water & coconut oil ain’t gone cut it pimpin’

Anonymous said: It's true that black women always get shit for their hair but it's because they do no display confidence in it so people feel they can push them around about it. They get weaves and extensions of different textures to look different and even with the natural hair movement they're still trying to get softer and curly textures. Black women are now claiming to own their natural hair but they're still far from it!

I guess it’s that type of day today…
